Cecilia Dupire, interior designer and Principal of Cezign, transformed this lifeless roof deck into the ultimate summer space. Part of a gorgeous penthouse apartment, this rooftop was the perfect place to create an outdoor oasis in the middle of the city.

Old wooden framing was removed to open up the space and give way to gorgeous city views. Then, bare wood flooring was covered with turf to not only enhance the outside feel, but also act as a barrier for noise. Planters in varying shapes but uniform colors give the space a sculptural look and help disguise exhaust units from the building.

Aiming for the feel of a garden in the countryside, Dupire introduced multiple varieties of plants in different shapes, uses and smells to create the sense of being embraced by nature.

The result? A slice of outdoor heaven in the middle of the bustling city.
